| Bulgarian Snowboard Federation (BGSF) was founded in October 1994 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In April 1995 BGSF was officially recognised by International Snowboard Federation (ISF) and Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) . In January 1995 the first races in GS and Slope Style was organised. Actually the first snowboarders was seen in Bulgaria in 1987/88, but the snowboarding became popular in 1993/94. Now a day the snowboarders in Bulgaria are about 4 to 5 thousand out of the 8 million population. In BGSF Ranking List are registered 240 competitors - men and women. There are five main winter resorts in Bulgaria with good snow conditions from January to March - Borovets, Pamporovo, Chepelare, Bansko and Vitosha. |
